Evening Symposium

 Wednesday 7th October 2020 (evening)

 Virtual event

An evening to enthuse you about the trials & tribulations of being an entrepreneur.

We had until very recently intended to stage this event with a limited audience in one of our local theatres, but the latest COVID-19 restrictions have meant that we have had to err on the side of caution. We thank the Coach House Theatre for all their help and advice, and we're disappointed we can't go ahead in their auditorium as planned.

We broadcasted this live on Zoom and Facebook.

An enthusiast for the printed word

In early 2017, Nicky Godding and her business partner Kirsty Muir decided to incorporate NK Media Ltd to bring a new publication to our region: the Business & Innovation Magazine. With 18 printed issues now under their belt and a growing digital platform to support the business, find out how the journey has been so far.  And hear what they've learnt along the way, both from rolling-up their sleeves and doing it themselves, but also by being in a unique position to have interviewed some other fantastic entrepreneurs on our doorstep. [Watch]

Nicky Godding, Co-owner and Editor-In-Chief of Business & Innovation Magazine

Nicky has had a distinctive career working in publications, press relations and media communications. She sent 14 years as Business Editor at Cotswold Life, whilst also running her own PR agency and acting as Press Office for Arkells Brewery. Keen to promote the Cotswolds as a great place to live and work, Nicky also co-founded Rock the Cotswolds.

Entrepreneurship in high definition

There are at least two ventures that Malvern has hidden under a bushel, and Chris leads them both: HDANYWHERE and OneAV. The former was started back in 2007 to make centralised entertainment more mainstream and to change the relationship people have with audio-visual equipment for the better. And in 2016, OneAV was created to support trade professionals, installers, technicians and resellers to deliver the latest AV and smart home lifestyle technology products to customers. With AV tech evolving so quickly, hear what it was like to develop a lucrative business in this fast-paced consumer electronics world. [Watch]

Chris Pinder, Founder HDANYWHERE and OneAV

Since receiving his degree in Music Production and Business from the University of Manchester, Chris has been working in and growing his two busineses. In 2013, he became Chairperson of Malvern Town Football Club, working hard to promote the sport and establish the club on a sustainable financial footing.
