Four ways to grow your business from today! With the future of the economy in the hands of small business, it's more critical than ever to surround yourself with the support and advice required to grow. Hear how to make the most of new markets in the UK and overseas, embrace the digital opportunity, and achieve business growth on your own terms. Emma Jones MBE, Founder of Enterprise Nation & SME Representative for Crown Commercial Service Following a degree in Law and Japanese, Emma joined international accounting firm Arthur Andersen, where she set up the firm’s Inward Investment practice that attracted overseas companies to locate in the UK. In 2000, bitten by the dot.com bug, Emma left the firm to start her first business, Techlocate – after 15 months, the company was successfully sold to Tenon plc. The experience of starting, growing and selling a business gave Emma the idea for Enterprise Nation which was launched in 2006 as the home business website. In March 2011 Emma was one of 8 co-founders to launch StartUp Britain, the national campaign to encourage more people to start a business and support existing businesses to grow. In November 2015 Emma was appointed by the UK Prime Minister as a Business Ambassador with a focus on increasing international trade, and in July 2016 Emma was appointed SME Representative for Crown Commercial Service. @emmaljones, @e_nation |

Entrepreneur: second mover advantage We all hear about the need for entrepreneurs to help drive new technological innovation and build the digital economy, but who are these people and what skills are required today? In the last 30 years, work and play have been transformed beyond all recognition through computer technology: the mobile industry, gaming industry and the Internet have democratised information, providing knowledge to all. The impact of this is changing today's professions and the nature of work. This talk looks at how businesses can start and grow, harness data, and innovate quickly to beat the competition. John Morton is CEO of CPM and a founder of three technology start-ups (one of which has now failed).
