What We Cannot Know

Marcus du Sautoy OBE is the Simonyi Professor for the Public Understanding of Science and a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Oxford where he is a Fellow of New College. He was previously President of the Mathematical Association, an EPSRC Senior Media Fellow and a Royal Society University Research Fellow. His academic work concerns mainly group theory and number theory, but he has also presented numerous programmes on television and radio, and is the author of several popular books; the most recent of which is What We Cannot Know and will form the subject of the evening's talk.
