Whether you need to protect intellectual property, secure funding, start a new venture, grow an existing enterprise or expand overseas, this session focuses on how to think creatively in your business operations. This year we combined a programme of talks, case studies and an elevator pitching session with the Chamber Expo. So this was a great way to reinvigorate your entrepreneurial spirit. Friday 9th October 2015, all day Cyber Security & Big Data Malvern Theatres A perfect storm is forming. The infrastructure around us, be it transportation, utilities or financial systems, relies on secure IT systems to function. Personally we are all embracing social networking, internet banking and multi-functional mobile devices. And businesses are encouraging 'bring your own device', home working and e-commerce. This generates huge amounts of valuable and vulnerable data that criminals are fighting to get their hands on. Tuesday 6th October 2015, all day Next Generation Innovators Day Three Counties Showground A day showcasing creative science and innovative technology at the Three Counties Showground open to primary, middle and senior schools (students in Years 6 to 9) from around the region. Students toured the hands-on exhibits and participated in exciting workshops and lectures. More details of the full programme here.

Friday 9th October 2015, afternoon Aston Martin returned to Malvern! Malvern College A special event aimed at Years 10 to 13 students with an interest in design, technology, physical sciences and engineering. Attendees heard from Dr Bal Choda, an engineer and STEM Ambassador from Aston Martin UK, about the design process, systems engineering, and innovation that goes into the creation of an Aston Martin sports car. There was also an opportunity to view and photograph an Aston Martin outside the venue. This session was kindly hosted at Malvern College and included displays from IMechE and UBRacing. |

Saturday 10th October 2015, all day Family Day Malvern Theatres Dr Kate Lancaster talked about the promise of nuclear fusion, and Dr Sam Gregson delivered his new interactive particle physics comedy called Large Hadron Colliding. We had hands-on exhibits staged in the Malvern Theatres foyers for parents and children to enjoy with an opportunity to find out about some of the latest new things like Raspberry Pis and 3D Printers. Sunday 11th October 2015, afternoon Electric Vehicles Innovation Showcase Malvern Theatres The Malvern Hills Electric Automobile Association (electrAA) teamed up with the Festival this year with an afternoon of talks and a static display of EVs. This was a chance to find out how electric cars are developing and why owning one is now a very viable proposition. Malvern is part of a central UK network of charging points, so people came in their own EV and parked up at one of the charging locations in town. More details of the full programme here. |
